Rules Of Aviation
- Every T/O is optional – landings are mandatory.
- Gravity is a law – it’s not optional.
- Never let an aeroplane take you somewhere, where your brain did not arrive first.
- When in doubt, maintain altitude; no one ever collided with the sky.
- The only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire.
- Learn from the mistakes of others. You won’t live long enough to make all of them yourself.
- The most useless things for a pilot are: altitude above you, runway behind you and the airspace in the tank.
- It is far better to be on the ground wishing you were flying, than flying wishing you are on the ground.
- Always keep the number of landings equal to the number of take-offs.
- A good landing is one you can walk away from – a better on is when they can use the aeroplane again.
- There are three simple rules to making a perfect landing – unfortunately no one knows what they are.
- All pilots start with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. Good pilots fill up the bag of experience before they empty the bag of luck.
